Toledo Walleye bounce back to record a big win over the Kalamazoo Wings
Earning a much-needed big win tonight, the Toledo Walleye defeated the Kalamazoo Wings 6-2 at Wings Stadium on the road. The victory ends their three-game losing streaks and bring them back up to the .500 mark on the season.
The Walleye wasted no time scoring, notching their quickest goal of the season when Maxime Tanguay scored on a rebound just nine seconds into the contest. Adam Hobson won the faceoff, sending the puck up to Ryan Stokes, then to Evan Rankin and eventually to Tanguay for the opening score.
They took the 2-0 lead just before the first intermission on a beautiful pass from Justin Hodgman to Adam Hobson, who was all alone and easily notched the goal.Toledo showed great pressure on both ends of the ice, especially on the power play. A combination of defensive play, plus a change in the lines benefited the Walleye, allowing them to take 20 shots and give up just seven during the first 20 minutes of play
