After a very slow start to the game, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots pulled out a win, defeating the Carolina Panthers 20-10 at Gillette Stadium. The win puts the Pats at an 8-5 record, clinging to the top of the AFC East Division.

Someone watching the first quarter of the game might have questioned the Patriots, who were held scoreless, despite having four possessions and moving the ball 129 yards. Not surprisingly, the Pats attempted a fourth and one play during their first drive, missing it on carry by Sammy Morris.

Their third possession was similarly disappointing as Brady’s pass, intended for Randy Moss, was picked off by Chris Gamble at the New England 48-yard line. The Panthers only needed the next two plays to score their opening and only touchdown of the contest.
