The Toledo Walleye announced this morning the signing of defenseman Luis Tremblay to their roster. Tremblay is slated to wear #6, previously worn by Jamie Milam who was released earlier in the month.

The defenseman from Val-d’Or, Quebec, began the season with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, playing in 14 games and tallying two assists and a whopping 54 penalty minutes before moving on to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the CHL.

Tremblay started his career in the QMJHL with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in 2000. After tallying a career-high 43 points and 160 penalty minutes in 61 games in 2003-04, he moved up to the ECHL to spend a season with the Bakersfield Condors. He played with the Wheeling Nailers in the 2005-06 campaign, then split the following year between the Texas Wildcatters and the Trenton Titans. Tremblay then returned to his native Quebec for two seasons playing in the LNAH with St. Hyacinthe.

Tremblay will join the Walleye tonight as they travel to visit the Cincinnati Cyclones at the U.S. Bank Arena. Toledo fans can listen to the radio broadcast on WCWA 1230 AM.
