Charlie Sheen may not have asked Santa for a trip to jail for Christmas, but that’s just what he received this morning in Colorado. The actor was arrested around 8:30 a.m. local time in Aspen after allegedly assaulting wife Brooke Mueller.

According to various reports, the actor showed up at a home Mueller was renting in Aspen. An argument quickly followed and Sheen allegedly pushed Mueller, who in turn phoned 911. Aspen Police Department officers arrived and took Sheen into custody at the Pitkin County Jail.

Sheen, who has a long history of arrests for various offenses, was changed with felony second-degree assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief. Bond was set at $8,500, but as the charges were related to a domestic dispute, the actor must remain in jail until his first court appearance. With the courts closed for the Christmas holiday, no court date was immediately set.

The ”Two and a Half Men” star married Brooke Mueller back in 2008 and welcomed twin boys later less than a year later. Sheen previously was married and divorced twice, including a very public break-up with actress Denise Richards.
