Richards, Tanguay and Hobson return to Rockford
The Rockford IceHogs and Chicago Blackhawks announced today the movement of several players between their teams and their ECHL affiliate, the Toledo Walleye. The Blackhawks recalled winger Bryan Bickell from the IceHogs and moved goaltender Alex Richards and centers Adam Hobson and Maxime Tanguay from Toledo to Rockford.
Alec Richards played in 14 games for the Walleye this season, posting eight wins, a 3.11 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. He also recorded his first professional shutout with the team back on October 24 against the Trenton Devils.
Adam Hobson and Maxmie Tanguay have become fan favorites in their time in Toledo, skating together on on the highly successful, and so-far unnamed, line with Evan Rankin. In the past two games, the line connected for seven of the 10 Walleye goals, helping the team win six-consecutive games.
The Walleye are left with Detroit Red Wings prospect Jordan Pearce to mind the net and have signed Dan Tormey as an emergency backup goaltender. Fans may remember Tormey from the pre-season as he spent time in Toledo to participate in the Walleye training camp.
