Wes Welker Injury
New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker was injured during the opening drive of the January 3, 2010, game against the Houston Texans. Welker appeared to injure his left knee just after catching a pass from quarterback Tom Brady.


Welker was hit by Bernard Pollard of the Texans on the play however gained 12 yards. Pollard is well known to the Patriots as he was involved in the tackle that ended Brady’s season in 2008.


The star receiver was helped off the field then carted off to the locker room. The team later announced that he would not return to the game.


As the Patriots have already clinched their AFC East title and playoff-berth, other star players including Tom Brady and receiver Randy Moss were benched.
